Internet Options

Wireless and satellite internet services are widely available in the Highlands and improving quickly.

But because of our variable terrain, not all services are available to every home.

For the latest intel on the best options, join our online discussion forum and check recent posts, or just ask.

As of this writing, these are the best options:

Starlink: High-speed internet via satellite. Available almost anywhere on earth.

Verizon Home Internet: Lower cost for reliable service, using existing Verizon towers in Grand County.

ElektraFi: Formerly Grand County Internet. Wireless service using fixed towers.

Hughes Internet: Another satellite-based option, but slower than competitors.

CenturyLink DSL: Input your county road address into CenturyLink’s website to see if you can get DSL. Some of the houses on the lower part of the Highlands are close enough to CL’s equipment to get it. CL is laying fiber in parts of the Highlands but you need to contact them directly to see if you can get their service.
